Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), also known as Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, pays a benefit in the event of an accidental death. It also pays a full or partial benefit in the event of dismemberment, loss of vision or loss of hearing
because of an accident.

Eligibility
If you are a
Faculty, Staff and Post Doc
regular employee scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week, or
Temporary full-time benefit eligible employees designated as "greater than a six-month assignment", you are eligible to participate in Personal Accident Insurance.
You may purchase PAI at group rates for yourself, spouse/same-sex domestic partner and dependent children.
How to Enroll
Select coverage amounts online within 31 days from your date of hire or eligibility.
How to Change Your Coverage
You may change your PAI coverage through Employee Self Service if you have a qualified Family Status Change.
If you are not changing coverage for a qualified Family Status Change, fill in new coverage amounts on a Life Insurance Enrollment Form and submit it to the Benefits Department. Please fill in beneficiary information on the enrollment form. You can make changes to your PAI at anytime; the plan does not require evidence of insurability.
Coverage is effective the first of the following month after the form is received and administratively processed.
You may change your beneficiaries through Employee Self Service.

Coverage
This insurance may be purchased in $10,000 increments, not to exceed $250,000.
If you wish to purchase this coverage for your spouse, SSDP and/or children, you must purchase it for yourself. Spouse, SSDP or dependent children coverage amounts may not exceed your coverage.
When you sign up for PAI, you also receive the WorldNet Travel Assistance program that offers employees and their dependents enhanced security for both leisure and business trips. When traveling more than 100 miles from home, whether domestically or internationally, WorldNet Travel Assistance provides Emergency Transportation Services, Pre-trip Information, Medical Assistance Services and Emergency Personal Services.
